This is an absolutely beautiful vegan and plant based roving which is available in 50g quantities. Sold in one continuous length, they are approximately 2 meters long and 2.5cm to 5cm wide. PLEASE NOTE: This item is sold by weight and not length.
Ramie is one of the oldest fiber crops, having been used for at least 6,000 years, and is principally used for fabric production. The Ramie fibre tops weigh about 20g/m and are combed sliver. Made in Italy by DHG dye house, the Ramie is ethically sources from China. It is carefully selected to ensure constant quality over time. The dyeing complies with Oeko-Tex Standard 100 and is done in our dyeing house which is GOTS 5.0 and GRS certified.
Our Ramie top/roving is perfect for both needle and wet felting, spinning and hand weaving,. Please note it is not as strong as wool roving and needs to be handled with care.
All items are wrapped using tissue paper or kraft paper. Orders are packed inside compostable satchels and I only use compostable masking tape.

I take on a limited amount of custom orders now days. Contact me with you ideas Of how you’d like to adapt one of my creations as I can recreate them in different sizes and colours and I just love everyone’s ideas. Please note I will not recreate the work of other fibre artists as it is a breach of Intellectual Property Laws, Etsy’s Policies and again my personal morals. Please do not ask as refusal may offend.
Sizing details
I can often adapt a pattern or use different sized cotton to recreate wall hangings to your measurements. Message me and we can have a chat about your ideas!
Gift wrapping and packaging
Gift wrapping includes my usual packaging of brown paper, tied with cotton cord and my flyer and business card. It also includes a beautiful printed card in an envelope, where I can write your personal message.
